The Second ASP.NET MVC Conference: Highlights

February, 8 was marked by the second annual mvcConf event – virtual ASP.NET MVC conference. It was free and consisted of 27 sessions that covered the major aspects of building applications based on ASP.NET MVC.

The line of speakers presented particular interest – they were developers within the ASP.NET community, and the quality of topics they presented was impressive. The sessions were broadcast in 3 tracks and any viewer could join all 3 rooms at the same time. This once again indicates the professional approach to holding this kind of conference. Several thousand people attended the conference online, and those who missed the event now have the opportunity to watch the videos of the presentations that were recorded posted several days after the event.

Scott Guthrie - Corporate Vice President in the Microsoft Developer Division - began the conference with a keynote in which he talked about the future of ASP.NET and took time to answer the questions submitted by the developers online. John Petersen – Microsoft ASP.NET MVC – shed light on the recently released MVC 3 and provided a primer on the new major features, e.g. special attention was drawn to the Razor View Engine. Intro to MVC 3 was followed by a presentation on advanced features, tips and tricks of MVC 3 performed by Brad Wilson – a software developer at Microsoft. You can find the complete list of the presentations as well as recorded videos on the official website of the conference.

By all means the conference was a great success that can be proved by the huge buzz it created in online media.
